2022 Acura MDX Model Review

The pandemic has affected everything, from our economy to the manufacturing of vehicles. Acura was hard at work as they redesigned the MDX for the 2021 model year, before COVID-19 changed their plans. Rather than release a vehicle that wasn’t up to the highest Acura standards, they decided to wait for the 2022 model year to release their brand new MDX. With four trims, also known as Packages, Acura has created a flagship for their brand. The 2022 MDX is better than ever, with luxurious seating and exciting drive train options. Read on to learn more about this new SUV, and see if it’s the right choice for you!

Trims and Prices

Acura refers to the various MDX trims as “Packages,” of which there are four. You’ll find that these Packages cover a wide range of prices, so you’ll be able to find the MDX that fits your budget. Whether you’re looking for the basics, or you want to splurge on a few extra bells and whistles, Acura has your back!

Base MDX starting at $46,900
Technology Package starting at $51,600
A-Spec Package starting at $57,100
Advance Package starting at $60,650

The first two trims can be either front-wheel-drive or SH-all-wheel-drive. The AWD option comes standard on both the A-Spec Package and the Advance Package.

Engine and Performance

The front-wheel-drive powertrain option comes with a 3.5-L V-6 engine producing 290 horsepower. A 10-speed automatic transmission will help you cover any type of terrain, and with up to 3,500 lbs of towing power, you won’t be limited by any road or path. The FWD MDX can conquer just about any obstacle. However, if you’re looking for a little more power under the hood, you could go for the Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive powertrain. You’ll get a torque boost that will help you tow up to 5,000 pounds, which is perfect for any adventurous driver. And with 21 MPG combined, you’ll be saving on gas as you explore.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Acura provides one of our favorite brand name infotainment options, AcuraLink. With it, you’ll be able to stay connected to your car at all times with your phone. The MDX also provides the Precision Cockpit, which personalizes your driving experience with a 12.3-inch screen. Acura has also released an exciting new feature, which projects a Heads Up Display on the windshield–we love how this shows turn-by-turn navigation, so you never have to look away from the road. Wi-Fi hotspot capability is standard on all Packages, along with Wireless Charging, so you won’t experience endless wire clutter.
