Acura Integra Type S HRC Prototype Preview

Acura is bringing potent racing technology to Chamblee. That’s thanks to a new push from the high-performance automaker to produce Acura performance parts developed with the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). To that end, there is Integra Type S news regarding a prototype that showcases similar components to those found in the Integra Type S TCX racecar.

Why Did HRC Honda Racing Build This Prototype?

The automaker wanted to show what Acura performance parts could do on a factory-produced car. The racing engineers dropped 200 pounds on an Acura Integra Type S and added some racing components to the exterior and the engine. This Integra Type S made news because some of its stock parts were replaced with:

• Carbon-fiber hood
• Larger front splitter
• Larger intercooler
• Twin oil coolers
• Lightweight cat-back exhaust system
• Track-tuned suspension
• Lightweight 19-inch wheels

Where Can You Buy These Acura Performance Parts?

There is nothing official about where you can buy these Acura performance parts. The company’s press release did say that this Integra Type S news was to illustrate what Integra Type S owners can do when they outfit their vehicles with racing parts. HRC Honda Racing hasn’t made these parts available to the parts centers of dealerships as of yet.
