Comparing the 2020 Acura MDX and the 2019 Infiniti QX60 is kind of like comparing something to its mirror image, so many things are the same and similar that it’s hard to tell the real one from the reflection. But there are a few real differences that we at Ed Voyles Acura in Chamblee, Georgia were able to flesh out that may turn your head and change your mind about which luxury SUV is the better buy.

Best Value for Money is Acura’s Value Proposition

If we start with the starting price, you’ll understand what we mean. The 2020 Acura MDX starts at $44,400*, while the 2019 Infiniti QX60 starting price is $44,350. That’s a difference, to be sure, but one so small as to make no difference. And when you include the destination charges of each vehicle the difference becomes even smaller, $45,395 for the Acura and $45,375 for the Infiniti, making a mere $20 difference.

Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60 are Alike in Many Ways, Except One…

Both come with a 24 valve direct-injection 3.5L V6 engine. The Acura 3.5L V6 engine produces 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. The Infiniti 3.5L V6 engine produces 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. And both get 20 miles per gallon (MPG) city, 27 MPG highway with a 23 combined MPG**, and the Infiniti QX60 is rated at 22 combined MPG. This is as close as you can get to being similar without being the same!

And to add a little more to this comparison if nearly equals, both have a 19.5 gallon fuel tank, both have the same turning diameter at 38.7 feet, and both have nearly equal amounts of passenger volume (132.7 cubic feet for the MDX vs. 133.0 cubic feet for the QX60).
